Two of The Oatmeal’s Popular Card Games Are Cheaper Than Ever

Bears vs. Babies | $21 | Amazon
Exploding Kittens NSFW Edition | $16 | Amazon

You know the guy that makes The Oatmeal webcomic? He does card games too, and two of them are cheaper than ever on Amazon right now.

The newer Bears vs. Babies is probably worth $21 just for the furry box, but once you open it up, you’ll find a family-friendly monster-building game that you can get through in just 20 minutes.

For an adults-only experience, Exploding Kittens NSFW Edition is down to an all-time low $16 as well. This once broke Kickstarter records, and boasts a 4.3 star review average from nearly 4,000 customers.

Humanoids Names Jud Meyers Director of Sales and Marketing

Almost a month ago, we reported that Humanoids was looking for a sales & marketing director in Los Angeles. Word is that they’ve found their person. Humanoids, Inc. has hired Jud Meyers to be their new Director of Sales & Marketing.

Jud began his career in comics behind the scenes working for Titan Publishing in London. from 1989 to 1994, he managed and helped launch comic book retailers including Forbidden Planet and the Virgin Megastore. In 2003, he opened up a shop in Sherman Oaks, California called Earth-2 Comics. By it’s fourth year it had already won the Will Eisner Spirit of Retailing Award. In 2009, Jud partnered with Geoff Johns to buy the San Fernando Valley Golden Apple Comics store and in 2012 he opened Blastoff Comics in North Hollywood. So he’s been around a bit.

Meyers said:

“I’ve been a dedicated fan and committed retailer of Humanoids product since I was a boy, so this really is a dream for me. I’m looking forward to bringing all of my sales experience to the publishing side of our industry. With the initiatives Humanoids has planned for the English-language market, hiring a retailer shows their dedication to a strong partnership with the direct market. The next few years will be groundbreaking. And fun!”

Alex Donoghue, Humanoids’ COO, said of the hire:

“After getting to know Jud through his fantastic stores and his continued passion for our catalog, we are thrilled to have him join our team and shepherd our sales and marketing efforts.”

Humanoids has been around for 40 years starting with the Metal Hurlant as well as series like The Incal, Metabarons and Barbarella. They are based out of Hollywood, CA with branches in Paris, London and Tokyo and are currently developing multiple film adaptations of their books.

A grumpy cat crashes an outdoor nativity scene, making for a really funny photo

No doubt you’ve heard the stories about cats smothering babies where they sleep. Well, there’s a tabby cat in New York City that has perpetuated that rumor in a whole new and hilarious way when it decided to sleep where baby Jesus is supposed to lie.

According to The Dodo, photographer Brooke Goldman wanted to sleep in last Sunday but instead walked her boyfriend to the train station as she had promised.

“I was pretty out of it… I was trying to get home as fast as possible to go back to sleep and wasn’t ready for the day at all.”

But then she spotted this cat quietly perched in this outdoor nativity scene’s “manger” and snapped this funny shot.

Let’s get a closer look at our new “lord and savior”‘s face, shall we?

“Bah humbug!”

Everspace: Free Hardcore Mode Now Available on Xbox One and Windows 10

https://news.xbox.com/en-us/wp-content/uploads/EVERSPACE-Hardcore-Mode-Ship-Upgrades_JPG.jpg

As demanding as playing on the hard difficulty setting is, this stand-alone hardcore mode offers an entirely new level of challenge for veteran pilots, with the additional caveat of disallowing improvement in starting conditions. Each run begins with the same fixed set of pilot perks, with ship perk upgrades only allowed at the end of each sector, provided you have collected enough credits.

Hardcore mode also introduces another nasty twist. When entering a new sector, players must select from different handicap modifiers, each having an adverse effect on overall gameplay. Essentially, players choose between the frying pan or the fire. In short, if you’re a diehard rogue-like fan, this will be a hell of a challenge and a whole lot of fun.

Everspace Hardcore Mode Screenshot

You’re gonna be pulling your hair out. You’re welcome!

As hardcore mode is not connected to the primary story, we needed a new end sector with a new end battle. Lots of Everspace fans enjoyed the end level placeholder boss fight from Xbox Game Preview, so we decided to come up with a design that borrows from previous gameplay mechanics, with a few added twits. Of course, the level design was created from scratch and the all-new Sector 7 provides a completely different look and feel.

Everspace Hardcore Mode Screenshot

Pro Tips for Survival

Avoid being hit
Super obvious, sure, but in hardcore mode, it’s even more vital to evade enemy fire and make sure you have enough energy to fire weapons or boost away when things get too messy. We promise: things will get very messy, indeed! Remember, in addition to only getting one life, losing that life means saying goodbye to any ship upgrades you’ve accumulated. Keep moving and use Boost often to fly around quickly and get out of a sticky firefight that isn’t going in your favor.

TLDR – Try to stay in one piece.

Watch your energy consumption
Boosting, shooting and using devices drains energy; entering a fight with a depleted energy core spells almost certain doom. If you’re low on energy, find a spot to hide to quickly regenerate, or craft Energy Injectors and use them directly from the crafting menu.

Prioritize your targets
Drones need to die quickly, or they’ll harass you non-stop. They deal a lot of damage, but have just a few hit points, so take them out first! Keeping this mindset, look for targets that can be destroyed quickly to increase your likelihood of survival. Elite and Mk 2/3 enemies might be more dangerous, but spending precious time chewing through their higher defenses while letting their weaker support live could spell your doom.

Everspace Hardcore Mode Screenshot

Use your secondaries and devices
It’s wise to be frugal, but you can’t use either if you’re dead. If a fight is going poorly, use whatever is at your disposal to survive. You can still craft new secondary weapons and devices if you have the resources, or gather new ones when the opportunity presents itself.

Position yourself aggressively
Enemies can’t shoot behind themselves (though Outlaws are good at strafing). Take advantage of this by using circular dodging, approach enemies quickly and get positioned behind them. This puts you close enough to never miss a shot while keeping you in their blind spot. If facing a group, boost to the last target and try to take it out before the others circle around. Get used to repeating this until you’ve mastered it. It’ll be a lifesaver.

Seek allied assistance
The mining corporation G&B Prospects are almost constantly being attacked and raided by outlaws, which explains their investments in so much security. So, try to arrange a not-so-friendly introduction when you got too many outlaws on your tail. Due to the peace treaty between the alien Okkar and the human race G&B units will ignore Okkars unless alien firepower hits their precious mining facilities. Perhaps you’re floating near those large G&B gas canisters and some Okkar shots that missed you happen to blow them up. Angry G&B forces in the area are gonna want payback. This also works with trader ships as well, which are remarkably durable and well-armed. Use them to your advantage!

Keep some distance
Not the best dogfighter? Well, most enemies aren’t the best snipers, either. Pick up a shock rifle or flak cannon and pick off targets at long range while they try to close in. Shock rifles can hit targets up to 4km away (3.4km for Pro), while the flak cannon has a 1.9km range. Most enemies only really become dangerous within 1km.

Be ready to be move
Always have an escape plan. Have an energized boost, or a teleporter device handy. When you’re in a bad spot, use them to back off, giving yourself that sweet, limited breathing room to quickly decide what to do next.

Try a different ship
Some pilots just don’t do well with certain ships and find themselves making much better progress and having more fun when they choose one that better suits their skills. It might just be that the current ship you’re flying doesn’t mesh well with you (yet), so consider changing things up. You can always come back later and give the ship that’s giving you trouble another go.

Everspace Gunship Screenshot

Loot as much as possible
You also want to take your time in each sector. Kill all enemies to collect as many credits as possible and gather all the resources available for much need upgrades later in the run. Modding weapons and devices can be a real game changer! Before you enter the next sector, make sure to invest credits in energy core upgrades and more device slots before anything else. Trust us, you’ll thank us later.

You’ve been introduced to hardcore mode, you know what to expect, and we’ve pumped your brain full of tips to survive the onslaught waiting for you. Practice some runs at the hard difficulty to prepare yourselves for the ultimate challenge, or beast it up and jump directly into hardcore mode. Enjoy, and see you on the other side!

‘The Predator’ Will Reveal Why Predators Come to Earth

predator

A source of horrifying mystery, the Predator franchise never really sought to understand the inner workings of those dangerous aliens. Plus, it seems like their motivation is telegraphed in their very name: Predator. They hunt humans because that’s what they do.

But Shane Black‘s The Predator will explore the greater details of why these extraterrestrial creatures came to Earth and what exactly they plan to do there.

Black, who brings the franchise full circle after starring in John McTiernan’s original 1987 Predator, is making sure to include connections tot he previous films in the series. The Predator 2 connection is obvious, with Jake Busey appearing as the son of Gary Busey’s character, Peter Keyes. But The Predator has more than just name recognition going for it — it promises to explore the backstory of the extraterrestrial monsters.

Jake Busey spoke with Pop Culture about how The Predator will add to what the three previous Predator films have brought to the pop culture pantheon:

“This one definitely falls in line with the original franchise in that it does focus on the technology that the Predators have. It focuses on what the goal of the Predators is, and what their modus operandi, and why they come to the planet, and that type of thing. It’s definitely in line with the original franchise.”

Busey went on to describe The Predator‘s place in the chronology, with the film taking place in the 2010’s after the events of Predator 2 (1990) which took place in 1997 Los Angeles, but before the vaguely futuristic Predators (2010).

While the rest of the plot has been kept under a tight lid — well, except for the exorbitant details that co-star Thomas Jane revealed — Busey’s comments are in line with what we know of The Predator. There will be multiple Predators running around and it will take place in the United States, possibly in the suburbs. But based on Busey’s comments, it sounds like they’re not just hunting humans for sports, but have some other sinister motivation.

For a refresher on our growing knowledge of The Predator, here’s Thomas Jane’s colorful description of the plot once again:

“We play these veterans from like Afghanistan or the Iraq War or whatever. But we’re all fucking crazy so we go to the VA hospital to get our meds. We’re all like shellshocked, PTSD soldiers. We’re at the VA hospital and we’re in group therapy and of course, somebody flips out – this is backstory, I don’t think we really see this – somebody flips out and we all get arrested and get thrown onto the bus to go down to the hospital and they throw this other guy on the bus too.

And he’s a guy they’ve actually marked to kill him because he’s seen a UFO, he’s seen the Predator ships come down so they lock him up and throw him in with us lunatics. They’re going to take that bus, drive it down to a ditch and shoot us all just to get rid of this one guy. But, of course, we take the bus over and we’re all like ‘fuck that, man, let’s go kill these fucking Predators ourselves.’ And we’re just crazy enough to believe that this guy really did see a UFO and there’s these aliens out there. So that’s kinda cool!”

The Predator stars Thomas Jane, Keegan-Michael Key, Olivia Munn, Boyd Holbrook, Edward James Olmos, Trevante Rhodes, Augusto Aguilera, Alfie Allen, and Yvonne Strahovski. It arrives in theaters on August 3, 2018.

There’s a New Portal Game Coming, and It’s a Mashup with Bridge Constructor

People have been waiting a long ol’ time for Valve to announce a game that isn’t MOBA or card-based. The notion of Portal 3 has floated around perhaps only just a little less intensely than Half-Life 3, with the world of science and testing still being one of the medium’s favorite ever. Well, there is a new Portal game coming, which is great news. However, there are two bits of bad news: One, it isn’t Portal 3, and two, it’s not being made by Valve.

Instead, the company has let Headup Games and ClockStone Software borrow the licence to create a spin-off of Bridge Constructor. It’s called… well, Bridge Constructor Portal. The game will see the Bridge Constructor formula plopped into Valve’s world, which actually seems like a pretty fun idea all things considered.

The game is out on PC and mobile devices December 20th and will see a console release later on into 2018.

Here is a trailer for the game:

While yes, it’s a shame we are still waiting for a mainline game from the series, I still think this is a fun mashup. Messing around with the physics and portals could certainly cause for some really fun puzzles.

Best PC Hardware Holiday Gift Guide 2017

https://static.gamespot.com/uploads/scale_large/1568/15683559/3320988-holiday-gift-guide-pchardware-promo-1-2-thumb.jpg

Finding gifts for the PC gamer can be tough considering there are just so many dang peripherals out there. That’s why we’ve done the dirty work for you and have outlined the best bang-for-the-buck keyboard, mouse, monitor and more that will serve as excellent gifts this holiday season.

Keyboard: Corsair K68 Mechanical Keyboard

A mechanical keyboard is a valuable asset to PC gamers, but they tend to come at a hefty price. Corsair offers some of the better options out on the market and for $100, the K68 features everything you’d need out of a keyboard. It’s water and dust resistant, so you don’t need to worry about accidentally spilling drinks at your desk and destroying an expensive piece of equipment. Dedicated media keys come in clutch and the Cherry MX Red switches give you smooth, linear, and precise keystrokes.

Street price: $100

Mouse: Logitech G403 (Wired) / G703 (Wireless)

Logitech has a great reputation when it comes to gaming mice and the G403/G703 shows why. It’s a simple mouse that fits into your hand whether you use a claw grip or palm grip. Those who prefer a heavier mouse can insert the included 10 gram weight. Two side buttons are easy to hit with your thumb and the distinct tactility of the mouse buttons help with rapid clicking. The G403 uses a Pixart PWM3366 optical sensor, which is extremely precise. The wired version (G403) goes for $70, but can be found for cheaper while the wireless one (G703) will run you $100 unless it’s found on sale.

Street price: $70 (G403), $100 (G703)

Mousepad: Steelseries QCK mouse pad series

The Steelseries QCK mouse pads are smooth. The surface consists of sleek cloth, which tracks precise mouse movements. The grippy rubber base prevents movement of the mouse pad itself. The low-profile styling keeps things simple.

The QCK series comes in several sizes, so you can find the dimensions that suit your play style or desk space setup. Dimensions and street prices of the different versions are broken down below.

Street price:

QCK: 320x270x2mm ($9.99)

QCK+: 450x400x2mm ($14.99)

QCK Mass: 320x270x6mm ($11.99)

QCK Heavy: 450x400x6mm ($24.99)

QCK Mini: 250x210x2mm ($6.99)

PC Controller: Xbox One Controller

For a long time, the Xbox 360 controller was the de facto controller of choice for PC gamers due to its XInput support. The Xbox One controller is even better, however, with improved joysticks. The newer variants also support Bluetooth, so you can go wireless without a dongle.

Street price: $47

Gaming Headset: HyperX Cloud Alpha

Kingston’s HyperX brand found its way into PC gaming peripherals not long ago and its headsets have been highly regarded. The Cloud Alpha released this year and provides exceptional sound quality. Just as important is comfort; this headset has dense velvet-like ear pads that form nicely around your ears. The microphone is detachable so you can get it out of the way if you don’t need it. HyperX’s Cloud Alpha connects through a 3.5mm connection and can be used on any device that supports the audio jack. Overall, PC gamers will appreciate its sound and build quality.

Street price: $100

Gaming Monitor: LG UltraWide UM57 25UM57

There are a lot of gaming monitors on the market, but LG makes a really good one with a 21:9 aspect ratio, which will be able to give you a viewing advantage in games that support ultra wide resolutions. It also helps that it’s under $200. LG’s UM57 25UM57 uses a 25-inch 1080p panel that offers just five millisecond of delay. This is good enough for most gamers. It also uses an IPS display, which means it offers vibrant, realistic colors and wide viewing angles.

Street price: $180

VR Headset: Oculus Rift

With the recent price drop of the Oculus Rift to $400, now is arguably the best time to get a VR headset, especially since the Rift has a more mature library that includes great games like Superhot VR, Robo Recall, Echo Arena, and more. This price also includes the Oculus Touch controllers, which retailed for $200 alone earlier this year. It helps that the Rift is also much easier to set up than the competing HTC Vive.

Street price: $400

SSD: ADATA SU800 (512GB)

Getting a solid-state drive is arguably the biggest upgrade you can make to your PC. ADATA’s SU800 SSD is a relatively affordable one that offers 512GB of storage for under $160. It also offers sequential read and write speeds of 560 and 520MB/s, respectively, which makes it dramatically faster than the speediest hard drives.

Price: $159

GPU: GeForce GTX 1060

The current cryptocurrency craze has dramatically increased the prices of modern GPUs, but you can still get a good graphics card for under $200. For instance, you can find Asus’ 3GB Phoenix Fan Edition GeForce GTX 1060 for $193, and it happens to be a great GPU for maxing out most games at 1080p.

Street price: $193

Webcam: Logitech C922

Logitech’s C922 webcam is great for both streaming and video calls. It has two different modes that allow you to shoot at either 1080p with 30FPS or 720p with 60FPS. The C922 also offers low-light correction, so you can use it in dim environments.

Street price: $100

Mic: Blue Yeti USB Microphone

Whether you want to stream or simply want a high-quality microphone, Blue Yeti’s USB microphone has you covered. It has three condenser capsules, which allow you to switch among multiple recording patterns that include cardioid, bidirectional, and omnidirectional.

Street Price: $125

Best Nintendo 3DS Holiday Gift Guide 2017

Nintendo 3DS Holiday Gift Guide 2017

Nintendo 3DS Holiday Gift Guide 2017

The Nintendo 3DS has enjoyed a long lifespan and it’s still very much relevant in gaming today. It has a vast library of amazing games at this point and the system itself has had a few iterations. So, if someone on your shopping list has yet to dip into the 2DS/3DS ecosystem, it’d be a good time to gift them a great handheld. Even if they already own one, we have a few pointers for accessories to pair with this Nintendo system. Check out what we rounded up!

New 3DS XL Samus Edition

New 3DS XL Samus Edition

The New 3DS XL systems are equipped with auto stereoscopic 3D which tracks your eyes to adjust the 3D effect properly. It’s one of the key features that make the New systems special, but the enhanced hardware and exclusive games make it a worthy upgrade for those who are still on the first-generation 3DS. The Samus Edition in particular features an elegant sketch of Samus Aran on the backplate along with the screw attack logo in a neat two-tone burnt orange and gold color scheme.

Retail price: $200

New 2DS XL Poke Ball Edition

New 2DS XL Poke Ball Edition

The Nintendo New 2DS XL launched earlier this year as another revision to the long-lasting handheld system, a non-3D version with the clamshell chassis design. It’s still a great system, and if someone you know still hasn’t dug into the 3DS’s vast library or has one of the older DS models, now would be a good time to get them a New 2DS XL. And if they are a fan of Pokemon, why not spice things up with the Poke Ball Edition? It sports a red, black, and white color scheme and a little button (non-functional) at the center of the Poke Ball design!

Retail price: $160

SanDisk Ultra 32GB microSDHC Card

SanDisk Ultra 32GB microSDHC Card

New 2DS and 3DS systems come with a 4 GB microSD card, but that’s nearly enough to store many of the bigger downloadable games. A 32 GB SanDisk Ultra microSDHC card will do the trick and they’re a great value for the amount of storage you get. For reference, Super Smash Bros. For 3DS has a download size of 2.1 GB and and Pokemon Sun / Moon takes up 3.2 GB. That extra space will come in handy.

Retail price: $14 to $20

AmazonBasics Carrying Case

AmazonBasics Carrying Case

There’s nothing too fancy about the AmazonBasics carrying case for 2DS XL and 3DS XL systems, but it’s a semi-hard case that’ll keep your handheld in tact. Inside the case are straps to keep the system from moving around and there are three pockets to store a few games. It’s a much better option than having your handheld thrown in a bag.

Retail price: $12 to $15

HC-RET Earbuds

HC-RET Earbuds

Simple earbuds are enough for the 2DS/3DS, but that doesn’t mean you should skimp out on quality when gifting a pair. The HC-RET in-ear earbuds provide great value considering that they can be found under $20 and outclass other earbuds in its price range. Good bass and overall audio quality will make sure 3DS sound great.

Retail price: $13 to $20

Hori 3DS XL Screen Protective Filter

Hori 3DS XL Screen Protective Filter

The two screens on the DS systems aren’t prone to as many accidents as, say, a Nintendo Switch since both 2DS XL and 3DS XL models feature a clamshell body design. But that doesn’t make the displays immune to getting scuffed. A pair of screen protectors can come in handy, and they’re pretty cheap. The screen protective filter from Hori fits XL screens just right and comes with a cleaning cloth for application prep.

Retail price: $9 to $13

Hori Game Card Case

Hori Game Card Case

Long-time owners of any of the 3DS family of systems probably have a ton of games by now, and carrying around a bunch of cartridges gets unwieldy. A simple case for all those carts can be a big help for portability and the one from Hori, which holds 24 carts, is only going to run you $10.

Retail price: $10

Amiibo

Amiibo

In addition to looking like really cool figurines, Amiibo grant in-game bonuses depending on the particular Amiibo and game. The New 2DS and 3DS systems have a built-in NFC reader will recognize Amiibo when they’re placed atop the lower screen. For example, you’ll unlock Fusion Mode from the Metroid Amiibo and exclusive art from the Samus Amiibo in Metroid: Samus Returns once you beat the game. A little research will help you pick the right Amiibo for your giftee!

Retail price: Varies based on specific amiibo

Nintendo eShop Digital Card

Nintendo eShop Digital Card

You can always rely on a Nintendo eShop card if you can’t decide on a particular 3DS accessory to gift. These act as currency in the eShop store where you can purchase and download digital games. It’d make for a convenient gift that puts the decision-making burden on the recipient, which is great for you! These come in either $10, $20, $35, or $50 amounts with the cast of Mario characters printed on them.

Retail price: $10, $20, $35, $50

Full Metal Furies is Coming to Xbox One January 17

http://ifttt.com/images/no_image_card.png

It’s hard to believe that after nearly four long years, the opportunity to show off Full Metal Furies is fast approaching. It all started with the naïve idea that after making our first game, Rogue Legacy, the next one would be smooth sailing. Countless delays later, and a development cycle that lasted two years longer than planned, we finally have a launch date to announce – Full Metal Furies will be released on January 17, 2018 for Xbox One and Windows 10.

We fell just short of our promise to release in 2017, but we hope you’ll forgive us the time needed to ensure we did not compromise on the experience we wanted players to enjoy.

FMF holds a special place in our hearts because its beginnings stem back more than 10 years ago, before our company, Cellar Door Games, even existed. Being ’80s babies, we grew up in the arcades with brawlers like Double Dragon and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade. It was truly the golden age of brawlers and beat-em-ups, but since then the genre has struggled to reach contemporary audiences. It was heartbreaking to see these types of games stagnate, so we’ve known for a long time that we wanted to do something about it.

Fortunately, we weren’t the only ones who felt this way. Games before us, like Castle Crashers, was evidence of what we believed all along: the beat-em-up wasn’t dead, it just needed some love. And while a number of brawlers have come out since, we believe old-school nostalgia can only take you so far. Our goal from the start has always been to help modernize the brawler genre and bring it to a younger generation of players. We’ve said it in interviews and we’ve pushed it into our marketing assets, but we’ve never properly explained what that means. That’s because it’s not a simple explanation.

For Full Metal Furies, we tried to tackle everything we thought was a problem. From the big ticket items like adding a proper story and implementing deeper combat systems, to the more minute issues such as standing at the edge of the screen and just punching enemies off-camera.

It is a massive laundry list of changes, big and small, and while we could bullet-point every single thing that we feel makes FMF special, who’d read it?  (By the way, if you want a list, let us know and we’ll totally give it to you).

Brawlers lived in a time where you paid for every minute you wanted to play. You could get away with repetition, button mashing, and simple game mechanics because people rarely beat the arcade games they started. But gone are the days of two button control schemes.  Contemporary video games have to be deeper, longer, and more complex than ever before. And we believe FMF is up to the challenge.  Full Metal Furies is more than the sum of its parts, and we hope you’ll give us the chance to prove it this January.

Still here? Well, if you are actually interested in the nitty-gritty of the game, we’re posting comics and videos explaining the design every other day of the week on our social media channels.  You can also catch up here: fullmetalfuries.com

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Nickelodeon welcomes Warner Bros. Television’s Emmy® Award-nominated comedy series, Two and a Half Men (12 seasons, 262 episodes), to Nick at Nite’s family comedy lineup beginning the night of Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 1 a.m. (ET/PT). The half-hour series follows the lives of Charlie and Alan Harper and Alan’s son, Jake, who live together in the same Malibu house. Following the series launch on Nick at Nite, the series will debut on Spike (soon to be Paramount Network) on Saturday, Dec. 16, at 12 p.m. (ET/PT). Two and a Half Men will continue to air daily at 1 a.m. (ET/PT) on Nick at Nite and weekday afternoons on Spike.

Nick at Nite is Nickelodeon’s nighttime programming block featuring hit family comedies including the newly added The Goldbergs and the Emmy Award-winning series Friends, as well as The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Full House and George Lopez.

In Two and a Half Men, Charlie Harper (Charlie Sheen) is a well-to-do bachelor with a house at the beach, a Mercedes in the garage and an easy way with women. His casual Malibu lifestyle is interrupted when his tightly wound brother, Alan (Jon Cryer), and Alan’s son, Jake (Angus Jones), come to stay with him. Complicating matters further are Charlie and Alan’s self-obsessed, controlling mother, Evelyn (Holland Taylor), Alan’s estranged and possibly gay wife, Judith (Marin Hinkle), and Rose (Melanie Lynskey), an attractive, offbeat neighbor who had a brief fling with Charlie and is determined to stay in his life by whatever means necessary. Despite the complexities of their lives and their own strained relationship, Charlie and Alan have one thing in common: They both love Jake and want what’s best for him. As a result, they manage to create a little family unit that promises to make each one of them a better man.

Two and a Half Men stars Charlie Sheen as Charlie Harper, Jon Cryer as Alan Harper, Angus Jones as Jake Harper, Ashton Kutcher as Walden Schmidt, Marin Hinkle as Judith Harper, Melanie Lynskey as Rose, Holland Taylor as Evelyn Harper, Conchata Ferrell as Berta, Amber Tamblyn as Jenny, April Bowlby as Kandi and Edan Alexander as Louis.

Chuck Lorre, Lee Aronsohn, Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum, Mark Burg. Oren Koules, Don Foster, Eddie Gorodetsky, Susan Beavers, Mark Roberts, Don Reo, Jim Patterson and Michael Collier are executive producers. Two and a Half Men is produced by Chuck Lorre Productions, Inc. and The Tannenbaum Company, in association with Warner Bros. Television.

CBS All Access Books Passage to Jordan Peele’s The Twilight Zone

CBS All Access is set to travel through another dimension; a dimension not only of sight and sound and mind, but (hopefully) also of lots and lots of new subscribers. The streaming service made it official on Wednesday: that signpost up ahead means their next stop will be a revival of the classic television series The Twilight Zone.

A month after it was announced that they were attached to the project, Jordan Peele (Get Out, Key & Peele), Simon Kinberg, and Marco Ramirez are confirmed as executive producers for the series and will also collaborate on the show’s premiere episode. Win Rosenfeld and Audrey Chon will also serve as executive producers; with CBS Television Studios handling production alongside Monkeypaw Productions and Genre Films.

“Too many times this year it’s felt we were living in a twilight zone, and I can’t think of a better moment to reintroduce it to modern audiences.” – Jordan Peele.

“The Twilight Zone was a touchstone in my life. The opportunity to continue its lineage is a dream come true, and I’m so thrilled to be doing it with Jordan, Marco, and the team at CBS All Access.” – Simon Kinberg

The Twilight Zone is the most recent addition to CBS All Access’s growing original programming slate, which also includes its first comedy series, No Activity; The Good Fight, returning for a second season in early 2018; and Star Trek: Discovery, which was renewed for a second season and will return on January 7, 2018. CBS All Access continues to expand with the previously announced $1, Strange Angel and Kevin Williamson‘s Tell Me A Story.

“The original Twilight Zone bridged science-fiction, horror, and fantasy together to explore human nature and provide social commentary in a way that audiences had never seen before. Under the auspices of Jordan Peele, Simon Kinberg, and Marco Ramirez, and with the creative freedom that the CBS All Access platform affords, this is an incredible opportunity to bring today’s audiences a modern reimagining of this iconic series.”
