Polygod Leaves Early Access for PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch Release

Polygod has been sitting in Early Access on Steam for nearly two years, but we’re finally going to be seeing the game get a proper release this week. Krafted Games announced with a proper trailer that the first-person shooter would be released on August 17th for the Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The game is actually pretty fun as you’re getting a polygon minimalist version of an FPS, fast-paced enough to keep up with games like Quake Champions. We recommend checking it out.

credit//Krafted Games

Blending a fast-paced, Quake-esque feel with randomness, difficulty and our handcrafted power-up system, Polygod is a hardcore gamer and speedrunner’s dream. Only the most skilled and strategic players will defeat the Trial of the Gods.

You are a Faceless One: a one-armed, gun-wielding assassin of legend. The seven deities of Polygod will test your skill with randomly generated arenas of hostile minions, followed by a boss fight against a ruthless Holy Champion.

Each of the arenas features five Altars of Worship, offering you Blessings in exchange for Souls you have collected along your journey. Blessings combine and stack to create unique gun effects, but each has consequences, so choose wisely if you wish to survive each wicked challenge. And don’t forget, death is permanent in this purgatory of the gods!

Codemasters Confirms F1 2018 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC

Codemasters and publisher Koch Media have announced F1 2018, the official video game of the 2018 FIA Formula One World Championship, will release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on Friday August 24th, 2018 just in time for the Formula 1 2018 Belgian Grand Prix begins on the Spa-Francorchamps Circuit.

While details on the game are still slim, we do know that more classic cars will be added to this year’s entry in the franchise. Codemasters also confirmed that the game’s career mode will be greatly expanded. And of course, F1 2018 will feature every team, driver, and circuit from the official F1 2018 season.

Alongside the announcement came the following statement from Codemasters:

“We were delighted by the reception that the highly-acclaimed F1 2017 game received, and are extremely excited to be able to further build on such a strong starting point with F1 2018” said Paul Jeal, F1 Franchise Director at Codemasters. “Over the past few years we have engaged heavily with our fan-base to understand what is important to them and we cannot wait to unveil more details on features we know our fans will love. Career mode has been further expanded to immerse players even deeper into the world of F1 than before, with the return of a highly requested feature back into the franchise. We are also adding more classic cars, again listening to our fans as to which of the historical F1 cars they would most like to virtually drive next. Outside of those headline additions there are many other great enhancements to be revealed before the game launches.”

There are also a few details on what we might expect from the following blurb about the proper F1 season so far this year:

The 2018 season has started in exhilarating style, with victories for Scuderia Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel at both the Australian and Bahrain Grand Prix™; and then for Red Bull Racing’s Daniel Ricciardo in China. Lewis Hamilton then won a thrilling and dramatic race at the Baku City Circuit in Azerbaijan and most recently Hamilton was again victorious in last weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix. The 2018 season also sees the return of the French Grand Prix for the first time since 2008, at the Circuit Paul Ricard, which last hosted the French Grand Prix in 1990. The German Grand Prix also returns to the Championship after not featuring last year, with the Hockenheimring hosting the race in July. F1 2018 will feature all of the official teams, the drivers and circuits of the 2018 season.

Shenmue I and II are Coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC This Year

SEGA has announced that both Shenmue I & II are going to be re-released on current gen consoles and PC. The re-release will allow a new generation of players to go on a thrilling adventure across recreations of Japan and Hong Kong to experience a tale of mystery and revenge on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam later this year. Like many re-releases, the latest edition of the games will come with some modernized features including a fully scale-able screen resolution, choice of modern or classic control schemes, PC graphics options, an updated user interface, and the option to enjoy the original English and Japanese voiceovers.

Since their original release, Shenmue I & II have established a passionate following and are revered as one of gaming’s greatest series of all time. These revolutionary masterpieces deliver a gripping story of retribution as Ryo Hazuki sets out to avenge his father’s death and attempts to unravel the secrets behind a mysterious artifact known as the Dragon Mirror.

If you haven’t played either game, you will absolutely want to keep your eye on this one, after all, the Shenmue series are must-play games for a reason.

Sega’s Shining Resonance: Refrain is Coming West for PS4, Xbox One, and Switch

Sega has announced that Shining Resonance: Refrain is coming to the west this year. The HD remaster of the 2014 Japanese-only PlayStation 3 game was announced for the PlayStation 4 in Japan last November, but sources within the company have confirmed to us that the game is also coming to both the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One when makes its western release.

Shining Resonance: Refrain was the only traditional RPG title from the series to be released on PlayStation 3. Having been released so late, about a year after the PlayStation 4’s launch, and with Sega’s well-known reluctance to bring Shining titles to America, it had always seemed very unlikely that the title would ever come to western shores. The HD remaster gives that opportunity to a more modern Sega with a more active localization branch to bring the title here. So this one actually reflects a pretty significant change in Sega’s approach to their more popular Japanese lines. It seems like Shining Resonance: Refrain is something of a test to see how receptive audiences are of more traditional JRPG titles, so if it does well, we could see some other Japan-only Sega games get released abroad.

The remaster features better graphics, an improved resolution, and an alternate path for the game in a “what if” scenario. You can find the western release announcement trailer below.

New Friday The 13th Update Out Now On PS4, Xbox One, And PC; Here Are The Patch Notes

http://ifttt.com/images/no_image_card.png

Developer IllFonic is releasing a new update for Friday the 13th. The patch is rolling out today, January 30, on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and it introduces several new pieces of content to the multiplayer survival-horror game, including a new Jason, map, and more.

With today’s update, IllFonic is adding the Pinehurst map and Jason V from the fifth Friday the 13th film, A New Beginning. Both will be playable in multiplayer and offline with bots. Jason V will be available immediately to all players and can use the following three grab kills: Hedge Trimmer, Last Breath, and You’re So Vein. IllFonic has also added a new grab kill, Rugby Player, which can be unlocked at level 108 for 2500 CP.

In addition to the new map and Jason, IllFonic has made an assortment of bug fixes and gameplay adjustments. Most notably, the developer has reduced the number of Pocket Knives and Medical Sprays that will spawn during a match. Jason players also now begin the match with two more throwing knives, and Jason’s speed and grab range have both been “slightly increased.”

You can find the full patch notes for the latest Friday the 13th update, courtesy of the game’s official forums, below. IllFonic has been rolling our regular updates for the title since it launched; in last month’s patch, the developer introduced the ability to play Friday the 13th offline with AI bots. GTA 5: What’s New To GTA Online For PS4, Xbox One, And PC This Week

http://ifttt.com/images/no_image_card.png

Rockstar has rolled out another batch of new content for Grand Theft Auto V. The latest GTA Online update is now available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and it adds a couple of new features to the online mode. On top of a new assortment of discounts and bonuses, this week’s update introduces the stylish Pfister Neon electric sports car, as well as a chaotic new mode called Hardest Target.

Hardest Target is an Adversary mode that pits two teams of up to 16 players against each other. The object of the mode is straightforward: eliminate the opposing team’s target while defending your own. “Only the Target’s life matters (and you can rack up bonus points for Target-on-Target violence), so the gung-ho approach is strongly recommended,” Rockstar says. To celebrate the launch of the new mode, players will earn double GTA$ and RP from Hardest Target until February 5.

In addition to that, players can earn 25% more GTA$ from Special Cargo Deliveries through February 5. Rockstar is also offering a big selection of in-game discounts on Bunkers, Special Cargo Warehouses, and more items. This week, players will be able to get the Cargobob for 35% off, while all of the following will be 25% off:

Bunkers

  • Farmhouse Bunker
  • Thomson Scrapyard Bunker
  • Bunker Renovations (styles and add-ons)
  • Mobile Operation Center Cabs

Properties & Renovations

  • Special Cargo Warehouses
  • Executive Office Renovations

Vehicles & Armor

  • LF-22 Starling (Buy it Now & Trade Price)
  • Grotti Cheetah Classic
  • Vehicle armor
  • Bulletproof tires

This week’s Premium Race is Rally, which is restricted to Sports-class vehicles. Everyone who participates will earn triple RP, while those who finish in the top three will be rewarded with a big GTA$ payout. The Time Trial this week is Casino. Players who manage to beat the target time will be rewarded with GTA$ and RP.

Destiny 2 Update 1.1.2 Out Now On PS4, Xbox One, And PC; Here Are The Patch Notes

https://static.gamespot.com/uploads/original/123/1239113/3346219-d23.jpg

Bungie has concluded its server maintenance routine, and Destiny 2 servers are back online. The first Iron Banner event of Season 2, which began in early December with Curse of Osiris’s release, is now live for a limited time, and a major new update has been released on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Here’s exactly what it does.

As Bungie detailed previously, update 1.1.2 introduces Masterwork armor. This is a rare quality that all Legendary armor can take on, and it operates similarly to the Masterwork weapons system added in December. Essentially, Legendary armor can drop as (or be upgraded to) a Masterwork version, which provides you with an additional stat bonus that can be re-rolled. Each piece of Masterwork armor also offers a 3% damage resistance bonus while your Super is active; this effect stacks, offering a maximum of 15% if all five of your armor pieces are Masterworks. These items can be obtained through all of the normal means, though Trials of the Nine and Raid activities are more likely to drop them. Dismantling them provides you with materials that can then be used to upgrade a Legendary item into a Masterwork.

Drops related to the Raid have also changed in a number of ways. By completing a corresponding activity in a given week, you’ll be able to purchase a rotating selection of armor or weapons from Benedict 99-40. Raid encounters are now guaranteed to drop a piece of armor or a weapon, and completing a Prestige Raid encounter before doing the normal version will get you rewards from both the Prestige and normal versions. A new Exotic Ghost exclusive to Leviathan can now be found during Raid activities’ final encounter. Finally, Raid armor all now have unique mods with new perks that only work when on the Leviathan. These can be rotated in and out by spending a Raid Token, and even existing Raid armor will have a spot to equip these mods.

This patch kicks off the Iron Banner event, which features new gear to earn, some of which you can see above. Other notable changes include a reduction in the amount of XP needed to receive an Illuminated Engram; it now takes 120,000, rather than 160,000. Both the Gleaming Boon of the Crucible and Vanguard have seen their Bright Dust prices slashed. And several individual items have seen balance fixes or changes; Prometheus Lens, for instance, which was a major problem in Crucible after its release and was later nerfed, has seen its damage increased. Additionally, its Flame Refraction perk no longer pulls ammo from your reserves; instead, it generates fresh ammo to use.

There are a ton of other tweaks made in this update too, and the patch notes are quite long. You can see them in full on Bungie’s website.

Fortnite Servers Down Again For PS4, Xbox One, And PC

http://ifttt.com/images/no_image_card.png

Following a long stretch of downtime related to maintenance yesterday, Fortnite‘s servers are again experiencing issues today, January 26. Epic Games has confirmed log-in issues on PC, PS4, and Xbox One–if you’re unable to get online to play, you’re not the only one.

Epic confirmed log-in issues on PS4 earlier today, which presumably were related to the issues that PSN was suffering from. However, Xbox Live’s status page calls out Fortnite: Battle Royale as “experiencing an issue,” and Fortnite’s Twitter account has confirmed the problem is not limited to a single system.

“We’re getting reports of players having issues logging in across all platforms,” it states. “We hear you and are aware of this problem. Work is being done now to find a solution for this. Updates will be available once we have more information. Thanks for sticking with us!”

These issues come a day after Epic was forced to extend server downtime due to an issue that cropped up during maintenance. That maintenance was tied to the release of a new update that introduced the Chug Jug item, among other changes and fixes. However, the patch’s release resulted in a series of bugs. One of these, related to key-binding issues on certain keyboards, has already been resolved, but Epic is continuing to work on others, according to its forums. These include getting stuck in the aim-down-sights view, reloading not working correctly, and problems with the building selector’s UI (which causes the incorrect structure to be built).

There’s no timeframe for when servers will be fully working again or those bugs will be resolved. We’ll report back as we receive more details.

Fortnite Servers Down Again For PS4, Xbox One, And PC
